Inventory of mHealth Projects – Add Your Project

The mHealth Working Group (http://www.mhealthworkinggroup.org/about) has started to compile an inventory of mHealth projects. If you are involved in or know of projects, they invite you to provide information for the inventory.

Currently, the inventory contains 179 projects from the following organizations: Abt Associates, Catholic Relief Services, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, FHI 360, Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health, Jhpiego, John Snow, Inc., Management Sciences for Health, Marie Stopes International, Pathfinder, PSI, and Save the Children.

PAHO/WHO/NLM-NIH Event on Public Health Information – Innovations Exchange

A Panel on how the technologies and new paradigms of content aggregation are changing the relationship between people and institutions with respect to eHealth will be held on November 18, 2010 from 10:00 – 12:30 EST at the PAHO/WHO offices, 525 23rd NW, Washington DC, USA.

The purpose of the event is to heighten awareness about Innovative tools on how to access Public Health Information, and to expand horizons on new ways to share and exchange information. It is part of the PAHO/WHO/NLM-NIH Series on Public Health Information – Innovations Exchanges. The event is aimed at Public Health Professionals, working in areas such as Information Systems, Knowledge management, Decision Support Systems, Libraries, Web Development health informatics, eHealth experts, Database management, researchers, and other public health workers.

The event will be chaired by Marcelo D’Agostino, PAHO/WHO Knowledge Management and Communications Manager, and Steven J. Phillips, Director, Specialized Information Services, Associate Director, National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Panellists will be:

  • David Hale, NLM-NIH US National Library of Medicine;
  • Peter Murray, CEO, IMIA International Medical Informatics Association;
  • Charles Friedman, Chief Scientific Officer US Department of health and Human Services;
  • Patricia Abbott, Johns Hopkins Univ. PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center Knowledge, Information Management, Sharing; and
  • Elizabeth Ashbourne – Health, Nutrition, and Population Human Development Network, The World Bank.
