Second Capital International Nursing Conference (CINC); Beijing, China; 25-27 October, 2013

Our colleague Prof. Ying Wu, PhD, RN, ACNP,  Dean, of the School of Nursing CMU  and Chair, Organizing Committee of CINC, invites colleagues to the 2nd Capital International Nursing Conference (CINC), the 20th Anniversary Celebration for Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI), Asia Pacific Region Nursing Informatics Forum, and the 1st National Nursing Informatics Conference will be held jointly in Beijing, China, from October 25th to 27th, 2013. This three-day convention will be hosted jointly by School of Nursing, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China, School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, and China Medical Informatics Association (CMIA).

The conference will provide a communication platform for nursing professionals from around the world to explore the significance of nursing science and to share the academic achievements within the field of nursing around the globe. The conference focuses on the hot topics in evidence-based practice, translational research, nursing education, nursing management, chronic illness nursing care, intensive care, disaster nursing, and nursing informatics.

NI2014 – 12th International Congress on Nursing Informatics – Submissions Close 30 September

image003Submissions are open for the Twelfth International Congress on Nursing Informatics (NI2014) will be held in Taipei in 2014. Dates 21-25 June; venue Taipei International Convention Center. Information is available via the website at http://www.ni2014.org

For authors needing language support, there is an earlier deadline of 31 August 2013 (see website)

All abstracts must be submitted and be received on or before September 15, 2013 through the on-line Abstract Submission System. For authors who need language support, submit by the pre-submission deadline, August 31, 2013. (this does NOT guarantee acceptance; it is a mechanism to provide support and feedback) All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee of the NI2014, and reviewing results will be notified by emailing the decision of acceptance/ rejection to the presenting authors only by December 15, 2013.

The theme of the conference is “eSmart + ” where “e” stands for eHealth, “S” implies simplicity, “m” represents mobility and meaningful use, “a” denotes advanced leadership, “r” indicates revolution, “t” means translational technologies, and “+” symbolizes People Leading uCare Safely. The acronym is also used to convey the idea of adopting smart technology to help health providers deliver higher quality care.

NI2014 – 12th International Congress on Nursing Informatics: Submissions Open 01 June

The Twelfth International Congress on Nursing Informatics (NI2014) will be held in Taipei in 2014. Dates 21-25 June; venue Taipei International Convention Center. The online submissions will open on 01 June, 2013. All abstracts must be submitted and be received on or before September 15, 2013 through the on-line Abstract Submission System.

The aim of the congress is to provide a single, high-profile, internationally renowned forum for research in the theory and practice of nursing informatics. Over the years, the congress has been instrumental in the advancement of nursing informatics which has made a great stride toward the provision of an International discussion forum as evidenced by the number of successful meetings held so far. NI2009 in Finland and NI2012 in Canada successfully attracted over 600 participants. NI2014 in Taipei will also present the most up-to-date scientific evidence through our comprehensive scientific program which will cover a wide range of topics to be presented in the invited speakers’ lectures, educational sessions, as well as the abstract-based program.

Major Events for 2014: NI2014 and MIE2014

Initial announcements have been made about two important events on the global health, nursing and biomedical informatics calendar for 2014. Further information will be given soon on important timelines, so please keep an eye on the relevant websites; IMIA will also be helping to promote both events.

ni2014NI2014 – the 12th International Congress of Nursing Informatics will take place in Taipei (at the Taipei International Convention Center, near to the famous Taipei 101) on 21-25 June, 2014. Initial information is available on the conference website – see http://www.ni2014.org We encourage all nursing and nursing informatics colleagues (and others) to participate.

MIE2014 – the 25th European Medical Informatics Conference – will be held in Istanbul on 31 August – 03 September, 2014. Information will be available on the conference website at http://www.mie2014.org and on the EFMI web portal at http://www.efmi.org We look forward to seeing many colleagues from Europe and further afield at this event.

April Events Highlights – MEAHI and EFMI Conferences

Two important regional conferences take place in April, 2013 – the 4th Middle East Conference on Healthcare Informatics, to be held in Dubai, UAE on 22-24 April – and the EFMI Special Topic Conference (STC), to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 17-19 April. Please watch for further updates here, or on the event websites, as they draw closer. We encourage colleagues to attend these events.

The 4th Middle East Conference on Healthcare Informatics – Dubai, UAE: The conference theme is “Applied Health Informatics: A Regional Trend or a Priority?” and this event will be held on 22 – 24 April 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event is being organised by the Middle East Association for Health Informatics (MEAHI – www.meahi.org), which brings together IMIA members in the region. In addition to the conference itself, which features keynote talks, peer-reviewed papers, workshops and other activity, there will be the MEAHI General Assembly meeting and the launch of the MEAHI Nursing Informatics group. Registration for the event is still open.

UPDATE, 15 APRIL: The MEAHI General Assembly meeting will be held on 23 April (4.20-6pm) at the Crowne Plaza Deira Hotel, Dubai, UAE. The conference programme is available on the MEAHI website – http://www.meahi.org/#!conference-program/clhv

The EFMI STC 2013 – Prague, Czech Republic: The Czech Society of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics and the European Federation of Medical Informatics (EFMI) are pleased to invite you to participate in the next EFMI Special Topic Conference (STC) “Data and Knowledge for Medical Decision Support”. It will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on April 17 – 19, 2013. Keynote speakers are Prof. Marion Ball and Prof. Jan van Bemmel.

Health Informatics Scotland 2013 – CFP Closes 15 May

The Health Informatics Scotland (HIS’13) conference is a leading annual conference and exhibition held to showcase the latest advances in the field of health informatics. Following the introduction of a very successful research stream in 2012, submissions are invited for: Research Papers; Presentations; Posters; Workshop Proposals. This event will be held on 18-19 September, 2013 at the Edinburgh Conference Centre, Riccarton Campus, Edinburgh, Scotland.

The four themes for 2013 are:

  • “eHealth Closing the Loop! Connecting and Communicating information between secondary & primary; health & social care; NHS & Patient.”
  • “Nursing Impact on eHealth: a stream jointly run with BCS Nursing Group and Royal College of Nursing eHealth Group”
  • “Current Research in Health Informatics: a stream jointly run by the major universities in Scotland”
  • “A Scottish Jam/Hack/Camp Un-Conference with a mobile ‘App’ development theme. Participate and make up your own agenda as the event rolls on.”

In addition, the event:

  • will be hosting the first “Derek Hoy Memorial Lecture”
  • will also hold the NHS Scotland eHealth Awards
  • on behalf of the BCS Nursing group we will be awarding the Dame Phyllis Friend Award to a UK nurse involved in innovative informatics or eHealth work.

Submission deadlines:

  • 15th May 2013: Submission deadline for research papers (papers up to 5 pages) or presentations (2 page abstract) or workshop proposals (up to 2 page description).
  • 30th June 2013: Submission deadline for posters (1 page abstract).

Nursing Informatics Australia Conference 2013: CFP Closes 22 March

nia-logoNursing Informatics Australia (NIA), a special interest group of HISA, is pleased to invite participation in NIA 2013, Australia’s Nursing Informatics Conference, to be held on 15 July 2013 at the Adelaide Convention Centre (in conjunction with HISA’s HIC 2013 conference). The primary theme of NIA 2013 (Australia’s only dedicated one day national nursing informatics conference) is New Age Workforce: Blending Professional and Digital Behaviours.

Topic themes include Governance, Legal & Ethical, Professionalism, Mobile Apps, Social Media, Work/Life Balance & technology, Patient Centred Care/Self Management, and Making it easy for the patient. The best paper will be awarded the prestigious Moya Conrick Prize.

SINI 2013, July 17-19, Baltimore – Abstract Deadline March 01

The 23rd Annual Summer Institute in Nursing Informatics (SINI 2013) will be held on July 17-19, 2013. The theme will be “Beyond Stage 7 and Meaningful Use: What’s Next?”
