Final Countdown to MIE2012 in Pisa, Italy: 26-29 August

MIE2012, the XXIV Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) is now only a few days away. Full information on the event – on 26-29 August, 2012 – is on the MIE2012 website at www.mie2012.it

MIE2012 will be organised by the Italian Association for Medical Informatics (AIIM), the Italian eHealth Community, and EFMI. The theme is “Quality of Life through Quality of Information”, offering the challenge to contributors to share experiences in the field of Medical and Health Informatics.

The final programme, including tutorials, social and satellite events, is now available through the conference website. Keynote speakers include Edward H. Shortliffe, Columbia University and New York Academy of Medicine, USA; Finn Kensing, University of Copenhagen, Denmark; Francesco Pinciroli, Politecnico of Milano, Italy; Roberta Annicchiarico, Fondazione Santa lucia, Rome, Italy; and Sabine Koch, Karolinska Institute, Stockolm, Sweden.

MIE2012 (Pisa, Italy) Just Over Six Weeks Away

MIE2012, the XXIV Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), will be held in Pisa, Italy in a little over 6 weeks from now – on 26-29 August, 2012. MIE2012 will be organised by the Italian Association for Medical Informatics (AIIM), the Italian eHealth Community, and EFMI. The theme is “Quality of Life through Quality of Information”, offering the challenge to contributors to share experiences in the field of Medical and Health Informatics.

The preliminary programme is now available through the conference website – the opening ceremony on Sunday, 26 August is preceded by tutorials and followed by the first keynote speaker, Prof. Francesco Pinciroli (Politecnico of Milano, Italy).

Other keynote speakers include Edward H. Shortliffe (Columbia University, USA), Sabine Koch (Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden) and Finn Kensing (University of Copenhagen, Denmark).

The submission deadline for full papers and posters for MIE2012 is approaching rapidly – and falls on January 15, 2012.

MIE2012 – Call for Participation Open

MIE2012, the XXIV Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), will be held in Pisa, Italy. MIE2012 will be organised by the Italian Association for Medical Informatics (AIIM), the Italian eHealth Community, and EFMI and held from August 26th to 29th, 2012.

The theme is “Quality of Life through Quality of Information”, offering the challenge to contributors to share experiences in the field of Medical and Health Informatics. Based on the theme, three main streams have been identified in the Conference programme:

  • Papers, Posters, Panels, Workshops, Short Communications, and Tutorials.
  • ‘Village of the Future’ which will try to mash-up all kind of developments to empower citizens, patients and care providers.
  • Commercial stream for Industrial and SME participants with the exhibition and other contributions.

April 17, 2012: Resubmission deadline for camera ready full papers, posters, panels, workshops, short communications, and tutorials
May 2, 2012: Notification of final acceptance for all contributions
May 7, 2012: Registration deadline for presenting authors. NB: If the author of a contribution has not registered, the contribution will be excluded!
August 26 – 29, 2012: MIE2012 Conference in Pisa, Italy

MIE2011 is over – on to Italy for MIE2012

The successful MIE2011 conference, held in Oslo, Norway on 28-31 August 2011 has now finished – http://www.mie2011.org Some reports from the event, including video clips and links to photos (by Jacob Hofdijk and Karl Oyri), are available on the MIE2011 blog site at http://mie2011blog.wordpress.com

The next MIE (Medical Informatics Europe) conference will be MIE2012, to be held in Pisa, Italy on 26-29 August, 2012. Initial information is on the MIE2012 website at http://www.mie2012.it

The conference theme will be “Quality of life through quality of information” and the Call for Papers is expected to open in October 2011.

IFHRO 2010 – Milan, Italy; Call for Abstracts

IFHRO 2010, the XVI Congress of International Federation of Health Records Organizations (IFHRO – www.ifhro.org) will take place in the “Stella Polare” Convention Centre, Milan, Italy on November 15-19, 2010. The theme of the event is “Better Information for Better Health – The way forward to a safe, responsive and integrated healthcare”. The 5th National Convention of AIDOS (Italian Health Documentation Association) will be held to coincide with the 16th IFHRO Congress.

The call for abstract submission is open from 15 February, with a closing date of 31 May. Topics for oral and poster presentations will include, but are not limited to:

  • Health Records and patient safety
  • Clinical documentation and scientific research
  • Data management and integration
  • Classification systems
  • Clinical coding and quality of data
  • Electronic Health Records.
