NI2016, 13th International Congress in Nursing Informatics Geneva; June 25-29, 2016

NI2016 will be the 13th International Congress in Nursing Informatics, and held in Geneva, Switzerland on June 25 to 29, 2016. See http://ni2016.org for all updates and information.
NI2016 will:
- attract all nurses interested of the future of nursing care around the world. Information technologies play a key role for health benefits and supporting the people healthy behavioral.
- provide simultaneous translation in the main conference room.
- give many awards: – best scientific paper – best poster – best student paper – best student poster – best international student design application and best national student design application.
- present the greatest fashion show of wearable devices.

NI Congresses – Onwards from Taipei in 2014 to Geneva 2016
NI2014, the 12th International Congress on Nursing Informatics (www.ni2014.org) held in Taipei, Taiwan is now over. So, the international nursing informatics community begins to turn its mind to the next NI Congress, NI2016, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The 13th International Congress on Nursing Informatics, held under the auspices of IMIA-NI, and hosted by the Swiss Nursing Association, among other orgnisations, will be held in Geneva, Switzerland on 25-29 June, 2016. The website is already live at http://www.ni2016.org and will be further developed over the next two years. There will be very early bird registration rates (fordelegates, accompanying persons, etc) from 01 July 2014 to 30 June 2015, followed by increasing rates following as the event nears – see http://ni2016.org/registration/
The Call for Papers will open on 30 March, 2015, with a submission deadline of 30 September, 2015. See http://ni2016.org/submission/ The theme of the conference will be eHealth for all. Every level collaboration – From project to realization. A number of innovations will be developed and announced over the coming months.

NI2014 – 12th International Congress on Nursing Informatics – Early Bird Registration
NI2014 – the 12th International Congress on Nursing Informatics – will be held on 21-25 June, 2014 in the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). NI2014 is organised by the Taiwan Nursing Informatics Association (TNIA) and other associations, on behalf of the IMIA Special Interest Group in Nursing Informatics (IMIA-NI).
The deadline for early bird registration is 23:59(GMT+8), February 15, 2014 (link via conference website).

The theme of the conference is “eSmart + ” where “e” stands for eHealth, “S” implies simplicity, “m” represents mobility and meaningful use, “a” denotes advanced leadership, “r” indicates revolution, “t” means translational technologies, and “+” symbolizes People Leading uCare Safely. The acronym is also used to convey the idea of adopting smart technology to help health providers deliver higher quality care.

The aim of the congress is to provide a single, high-profile, internationally renowned forum for research in the theory and practice of nursing informatics. Over the years, the congress has been instrumental in the advancement of nursing informatics which has made a great stride toward the provision of an International discussion forum as evidenced by the number of successful meetings held so far. NI2009 in Finland and NI2012 in Canada successfully attracted over 600 participants. NI2014 in Taipei will also present the most up-to-date scientific evidence through our comprehensive scientific program which will cover a wide range of topics to be presented in the invited speakers’ lectures, educational sessions, as well as the abstract-based program.
Major Events for 2014: NI2014 and MIE2014
Initial announcements have been made about two important events on the global health, nursing and biomedical informatics calendar for 2014. Further information will be given soon on important timelines, so please keep an eye on the relevant websites; IMIA will also be helping to promote both events.
NI2014 – the 12th International Congress of Nursing Informatics will take place in Taipei (at the Taipei International Convention Center, near to the famous Taipei 101) on 21-25 June, 2014. Initial information is available on the conference website – see http://www.ni2014.org We encourage all nursing and nursing informatics colleagues (and others) to participate.
MIE2014 – the 25th European Medical Informatics Conference – will be held in Istanbul on 31 August – 03 September, 2014. Information will be available on the conference website at http://www.mie2014.org and on the EFMI web portal at http://www.efmi.org We look forward to seeing many colleagues from Europe and further afield at this event.
IMIA Board Meeting, Montreal – Alan Turing 100th Birthday
The IMIA Board meets today, 23 June 2012, on the 100th birthday of computer science pioneer, Alan Turing.
The IMIA Board is meeting in Montreal, Canada in conjunction with the NI2012 nursing informatics conference, held under the auspices of IMIA-NI and hosted by AMIA.
In addition, IMIA-NI will hold its annual General Assembly meeting, and the NI2012 conference runs from today until 27 June, at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure.
