MIE2015 (Madrid, Spain) – Call for Submissions – Extended Deadlines
The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) and the Spanish Society of Health Informatics (SEIS), Spain invite you to submit your contributions to the 26th Medical Informatics Europe Conference, MIE2015, which will be held from 27 to 29 May 2015 in Madrid, Spain. The theme of MIE2015 is “Digital healthcare empowering Europeans”.

Deadline for Workshops, Panels, Special events (nonindexed) proposals is December 22nd.

New EFMI Board and Website
The new Board of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI – www.efmi.org) has been announced, with new officers taking up their positions effective of the closing of MIE2014.
The new EFMI Executive Board from 03 September,2014 is:

MIE2014 – Istanbul, Turkey; 31 August – 03 September
MIE2014 – the 25th European Medical Informatics Conference – is will be held on 31 August to 03 September, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey. Full details of the event are at www.mie2014.org – including speakers, draft programme, as well as information on hotels and the social programme.

IMIA Board Meeting, Budapest
The IMIA Board met in Budapest on 26 April, 2014 in conjunction with the EFMI Special Topic Conference 2014 (www.stc2014.org). In addition, members of the IMIA Board participated in a joint meeting with the EFMI Board on 25 April, and were pleased to be able to join the EFMI Council for their dinner in the evening of 25 April.
The next IMIA Board meeting will be on 30 October, 2014 and the next IMIA General Assembly meeting will be on 31 October 2014. The meetings will be held in New Delhi, India in conjunction with the APAMI2014 conference (www.apami2014.com)
EFMI STC2014 – Budapest, Hungary; 26-29 April
The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) Special Topic Conference (STC) 2014 will take place on 26-29 April, 2014 at the Hotel Benczúr. Information on the event is available through the website at http://stc2014.org
The subject of the EFMI STC 2014 will be Cross-border challenges in informatics with a focus on disease surveillance and utilising big-data. The Patron is Dr. Szócska Miklós, minister of state responsible for health, and the LOC is lead by Dr György Surján and his colleagues from the Biomedical Section of the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT), IMIA and EFMI’s Member Society in Hungary. The SPC chairs are Lacrimioara Stoicu-Tivadar (Romania) and Simon de Lusignan (UK).
The regular registration rate is available until 28 March, after which the on-site rate applies. Information on keynotes speakers and other sessions, including social options, is all available at http://stc2014.org

The latest issue of Acta Informatica Medica: journal of the Society for Medical Informatics of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Academy of Medical Sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina is now available – 2014, Volume 22, Issue 1.

The submission deadline for the EFMI STC 2014 has been extended – the deadline for all submissions (full papers, posters and workshops) is now 06 January, 2014. See http://www.stc2014.org for information.
Information is continually being updated on the website as it becomes available, including details of the conference venue, accommodation, and other relevant dates in respect of the scientific submissions. The deadline for early bird registration will be 21 February.

ICIMTH2014 Conference (Athens, Greece) July 10-14, 2014: Call for Submissions
Prof. John Mantas, University of Athens, Greece (on behalf of the Organizing Committee) and Prof. Arie Hasman, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands (on behalf of the Scientific Program Committee) are pleased to invite submissions, and would like to welcome you to, ICIMTH, the International Conference on Informatics, Management, and Technology in Healthcare. The event will be held in Athens, Greece on 10-14 July, 2014. As John and Arie note, the conference offers both an excellent scientific event and an outstanding occasion to enjoy the local hospitality, food and culture.
