Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care (Harvard School of Public Health) – 2015 Course

Harvard School of Public Health once again offers its Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care course, for two weeks in 2015. This two week, executive education program designed to provide participants with the skills and strategies necessary to improve quality, safety, and efficiency through health IT. IMIA members or colleagues may be interested in this offering; please feel free to forward the information to others.

Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care
February 2-6, 2015 (Part 1) & June 1-5, 2015 (Part 2) in Boston, MA
Improve quality, safety, and efficiency through health information technology and gain the leadership skills you need to drive results. You will learn to design an effective health IT strategy and gain the tools to implement this strategy effectively. Topics explored in this course include IT strategy and governance, EHRs, improving quality and safety through health IT, and clinical informatics strategy and innovation. This program is designed for mid- to senior-level health care leaders in clinical or administrative positions who have responsibilities for health information technology. Executives from EHR vendors, health plans, and consulting firms will also benefit. Typical participant titles include, but are not limited to: Chief executive officer; Chief information officer; Chief medical informatics officer; Chief medical officer; Medical director; Vice presidents of information technology, information systems, or informatics; Directors of information technology, information systems, or informatics.

Global Telehealth 2015 Conference – Call for Papers Extended to Monday 15 December


GT2015 Call for Papers: Deadline Extension to Monday, December 15, 2014

COACH is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for GT2015 (, the 4th such conference, open to all academic, healthcare, health informatics and telehealth professionals from Canada and around the world. The organisers encourage your research, study and leading papers to be submitted for acceptance and presentation at this international conference, to be held on May 29-30, 2015 in Toronto.

On behalf of Conference Co-Chairs Jennifer Zelmer and Kendall Ho, we would welcome you to Canada and to this special conference with the theme Serving the Underserved: Integrating Technology and Information for Better Healthcare. Bring your study and research findings, present and network with your Canadian and international colleagues, get published and Medline indexed in the IOS Press series Studies in Health Technology and Informatics and be a part of the innovation, evolution and development of telehealth, mobile health and virtual health, all for the betterment of our patient populations in every community and region.

We welcome your papers, your attendance and interest – and plan to stay for the eHealth 2015 conference ( starting the day after GT2015 (31 May – 03 June) , and also in Toronto.

The Applied Program track for GT2015 is also now open. The applied program track will feature a number of concurrent sessions on:

1. Telehealth in the Home, including technologies and services such as teleconsultation, telecollaboration, telehomecare and remote patient monitoring that enable and empower patients to work with healthcare professionals to manage their disease from their homes or communities.
2. eMental Health, and how this is being provided in new and different ways with digital technologies to augment service quantity and quality, enhance access, address diversity while reducing disparity, and improve outcomes.
3. National Programs, featuring profiles of small, medium and large countries and agencies and their approaches to governance and policy given different geographic, demographic and related challenges and issues.
4. Planning, Implementation & Management, including how care delivery services are being conceived, designed and delivered, as well as approaches to funding, measurement, monitoring and benefits evaluation.

The deadline for submissions to the Applied Program is January 16, 2015.  Early submissions are appreciated as there are limited presentation opportunities.  Submissions will be reviewed and selections made by the CTF Education Committee, which is responsible for the organization of the applied program committee component of GT2015. Those submitters whose presentations have been selected being notified by February 16th.
