Health On the Net Foundation Newsletter, September 2012
The latest issue of the Health On the Net Foundation newsletter (September 2012) has, in particular, items on raising public awareness and on HON publications.
Raising Public Awareness
The Health On the Net Foundation aims to educate users on the importance of transparent and trustworthy health information. One way that this is done is by making people more aware of the HONcode, what it represents, and how to search and access HONcode Certified websites.
HON would like ask webmasters of all HONcode Certified websites to answer a short questionnaire and to give feedback on their ideas >> Click here to access the questionnaire>> Answering takes a maximum of 5 minutes. The questionnaire will be online until October 7th, 2012.
HON has contributed to the new publication “eHealth: Legal, Ethical and Governance Challenges” (2013, edited by George & Whitehouse & Duquenoy) by writing chapter 11: The Internet and Health: International Approaches to Evaluating the Quality of Web-Based Health Information. The publication provides useful support materials and readings for people who work on developing current understandings of the legal, ethical, and governance challenges involved in the eHealth context.
Published by Springer, the book is available for purchase online as a hardcover or an online publication. (Also available on Amazon and eBay. The Health On the Net Foundation does not gain any revenue from the sales.)
