IFHIMA Global News Issue 11: IFHIMA Congress 2013 Submissions Deadline

REMINDER: The Call For Abstracts will close on September 28, 2012.

IFHIMA (The International Federation of Health Information Management  – has published the latest issue (No. 11, August 2012) of their Global News, available as a PDF download. In addition to Margaret Skurka’s President’s Message, it contains articles including HIM education and training in developing countries, a report on a comparative study on Health Information Management education around the world, and reports from Cameroon, Finland, Greenland and the Philippines.

IFHIMA announces that “Delegates and students can apply for a Developing Country Delegate Sponsorship. A limited number of sponsorships will be awarded and funding will come from different sponsoring companies.” Information on this scheme is in the March 2012 Global News.  The application deadline is September 28, 2012.

Featured plenary speakers include John Wright; President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI);  Tevfik Bedirhan Üstün, Coordinator, Classifications, Terminologies and Standards, World Health Organization; and Richard Alvarez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Health Infoway.
