3rd Healthcare IT Exchange: 02-04 December 2012; Manchester, UK

The 3rd Healthcare IT Exchange will take place on the 2nd – 4th December, 2012 in Manchester (United Kingdom), and will once again bring together CIOs, IM&T Directors, government representatives and leading solution providers to discuss how public and private organisations can drive greater efficiencies and improve quality of care in times of restrained budgets and change for the healthcare sector. Full information is available on the event website at and the updates can be found on Twitter @HealthcareITEx

The 3rd Healthcare IT Exchange is an exclusive invitation only networking forum for senior IT executives in the NHS and private healthcare organisations. An increasing drive to move care closer to home, the aging population and a rapidly emerging technology savvy generation are just some of the challenges faced by IM&T Directors and their organisations. These developments call for greater alignment between hospitals, GPs and community services, implementation of new technologies, effective system integration and information sharing. The Exchange will address what strategies should be implemented to meet these demands and increase the quality of care whilst reducing costs?

Among industry experts who will be sharing their insights are:

  • Mark Blakeman, Director of Informatics, University Hospital South Manchester NHS Trust
  • Tracy Cannell, Managing Director, East Coast Community Healthcare CIC
  • Dr Hashim Reza, Clinical Director of Informatics, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust
  • Will Smart, Director of IM&T, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust
  • Jane Hartley, Assistant Director Information Management, Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Tracy Cannell, Managing Director, East Coast Community Healthcare CIC

IMIA is pleased to be supporting the event as a media partner, and IMIA CEO Dr Peter Murray will again be chairing the event.
