Prof. Chang Soon Koh, Korean Society of Medical Informatics

It is with regret that we inform colleagues that Prof. Dr. Chang Soon Koh passed away on Monday, August 7, 2012 at the age of 80. Founder and First President of the Korean Society of Medical Informatics in 1987, he had served as the president of KOSMI (Korean Society of Medical Informatics) for many years, and was the Organizing Committee chair of MEDINFO 1998 in Seoul.

Dr Koh was a professor of Internal Medicine at Seoul National University.

As reported by Prof. Hyeoun-Ae Park, College of Nursing Seoul National University (IMIA Vice President and current KOSMI representative to IMIA), Dr Koh “was a real survivor from three different types of cancer and from Parkinson’s disease”. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 7 at Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Parlour, Seoul, Korea.
