University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine Seeks Research in Education Centre Director

The University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine (http://www.facmed.utoronto.ca) seeks applications for the post of  Director, Donald R. Wilson Centre for Research in Education at University Health Network, for a 5-year term effective July 1, 2012. The closing date for this position is Monday December 12, 2011, or until filled. The Donald R. Wilson Centre for Research in Education enjoys national and international recognition for its educational research, fundamental research programs, and collaborative partnerships with clinician educators and health professional disciplines, within the University of Toronto. The mission of the centre is to foster the discovery and application of new knowledge relevant to advancing health-care education and practice, to promote creative synergies between diverse disciplinary, interdisciplinary and theoretical perspectives and between theory and practice, and to be a world leader in education research.

In addition to a record of academic excellence, the successful candidate will possess outstanding leadership, administrative management, communication, and relationship-building skills. The individual will bring an inclusive scholarly vision and strategies to enable the centre to build and to sustain effective academic partnerships. Candidates should have a track record of successful and innovative leadership in education and research, and must be eligible for academic appointment at the rank of associate or full professor. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary and multi-perspective environments. The next director must have the leadership skills and innovative thinking to take the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, Donald R. Wilson Centre for Research in Education at University Health Network to a new level of international recognition and academic achievement.
