MIE2012 – Call for Participation Open

MIE2012, the XXIV Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), will be held in Pisa, Italy. MIE2012 will be organised by the Italian Association for Medical Informatics (AIIM), the Italian eHealth Community, and EFMI and held from August 26th to 29th, 2012.

The theme is “Quality of Life through Quality of Information”, offering the challenge to contributors to share experiences in the field of Medical and Health Informatics. Based on the theme, three main streams have been identified in the Conference programme:

  • Papers, Posters, Panels, Workshops, Short Communications, and Tutorials.
  • ‘Village of the Future’ which will try to mash-up all kind of developments to empower citizens, patients and care providers.
  • Commercial stream for Industrial and SME participants with the exhibition and other contributions.

Important dates and Deadlines

Contributions can be submitted until the deadline stated each submission type:

January 15, 2012: Submission deadline for full papers and posters
March 1, 2012: Submission deadline for panels, workshops, short communications, tutorials
March 27, 2012: Notification of results of reviews for full papers, posters, panels, workshops, short communications, and tutorials
April 15, 2012: Submission deadline for “Village of the future” proposals
April 17, 2012: Resubmission deadline for camera ready full papers, posters, panels, workshops, short communications, and tutorials
May 2, 2012: Notification of final acceptance for all contributions
May 7, 2012: Registration deadline for presenting authors. NB: If the author of a contribution has not registered, the contribution will be excluded!
August 26 – 29, 2012: MIE2012 Conference in Pisa, Italy

EFMI STC2012 – Moscow, April 18-21, 2012: Call for Participation Open

The next Special Topic Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI STC2012) will be held on April 18-21, 2012 in Moscow, Russia. The theme will be ‘Large Scale Projects in eHealth – Partnership in Modernisation’.

e-Health 2012; May 27-30, Vancouver – Call for Abstracts Closes 01 December

e-Health 2012: Innovating Health e-Care will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada from May 27 to May 30, 2012. The conference will be held in the heart of Vancouver at the newly renovated East Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre. Full information will become available on the event website at

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 01 December, 2011 – see information at The Call states clearly that “late submissions will not be accepted”.

This annual event is hosted by COACH: Canada’s Health Informatics Association, in conjunction with the Canadian Institute for Health Information and Canada Health Infoway.

21st Biennial International Conference Biosignal 2012 – Brno, Czech Republic; June 28-30, 2012

The 21st Biennial International Conference Biosignal 2012 will be held in Brno, Czech Republic on June 28 – 30, 2012. The conference website is at for full information. 2011 Canadian Health Informatics Awards

The 2011 Canadian Health Informatics Award Gala was held at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Canada on 09 November 2011. The award winners, from a cross-section of Canadian healthcare, were honoured for their leadership, innovation and excellence in using technology for the betterment of patient care and education and the health system.
