Medicine 2.0’11 – Stanford CA, September 16-18, 2011

Medicine 2.0’11, the fourth world congress on social media and Web 2.0 in health, medicine and biomedical research (aka Medicine 2.0 Fall Conference 2011) will take place on September 16-18, 2011 (see http://www.medicine20congress.com). The event will be hosted by the Stanford University School of Medicine, and will be held at the school’s brand new $90 millon Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge. This is in Silicon Valley, home to many of the world’s preeminent technology companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo, Intel, and others. Stanford University is located in Northern California, approximately 35 miles south of San Francisco.

As in previous years, IMIA will be a supporting organisation for the event. Members of IMIA’s Social Media Working Group will be actively involved in many aspects of the event, and have formed the abstract and poster secondary review committee.

Registration is now open – see http://www.medicine20congress.com/ocs/index.php/med/med2011/schedConf/registration – with the early bird rate closing on 15 May.

There are two back-to-back and linked events – attendees can register for one or both. The Stanford Summit will be held on September 16, and the main Medicine 2.0 Congress will be held on September 17 and 18.
