Methods of Information in Medicine Celebrates Volume 50 with Free Downloads of Archives

Methods of Information in Medicine is an official journal of IMIA. In 2011, Methods publishes its 50th volume.

Methods is also proud to announce that, from 2011 onwards, all articles of Methods from 1962 – the year of the journal’s inception – until the present can be accessed online. In addition, all articles up to (currently) Volume 49, Issue 1 (2010) are now available as free downloads.

In a joint effort between the Schattauer Publishing Company and the Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics, all those papers published between 1962 and 1998, were scanned, indexed, and are now stored in the online archive of Methods. Methods as the oldest international journal in medical informatics therefore provides now an archive of the history of this field.

As far as possible those articles have also been (re)indexed in Medline so that they can not only be searched, but also directly accessed through PubMed. After accessing, go to the “Archive“ subpage. All articles beginning from the first issue in 1962 are now available as pdf documents.
