IMIA Member Society Journals

Many IMIA Member Societies produce journals and other publications. These are often aimed primarily at their own members, but many are also widely available and provide valuable information to thew wider global community. In an occasional series of news items, we will be featuring a few of these. The first three to mention are:

Acta Informatica Medica: http://www.amn.ba/publications.html
Society for Medical Informatics of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Academy of Medical Sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina
ISSN: 0353-8109

Since 1993, the Society for Medical Informatics of Bosnia and Herzegovina continuously publishes its own professional journal – ACTA INFORMATICA MEDICA (AIM), where papers from the field of medical informatics are presented.

The current issue is Vol 18, No 1 (2010).

Indian Journal of Medical Informatics: http://ijmi.org/index.php/ijmi/index
ISSNs 0973-0379 and 0973-9254 (Online)
PURL (Persistent Uniform Resource Locator): http://purl.org/fulltext/ijmi/

The Indian Journal of Medical Informatics (IJMI) is an Open Access, peer-reviewed, online journal adopting a broad definition of “medical informatics” and focusing on the applied aspects of computers to healthcare delivery. In the Indian Journal of Medical Informatics, all articles are accessible free of charge (as HTML files); however, PDF files are available only to IAMI (Indian Association of Medical Informatics) members.

The current issue is Vol 5, No 1 (2010).

JAMIA – Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association: http://www.jamia.org
ISSN: 1527-974X

AMIA’s bimonthly journal, JAMIA, presents peer-reviewed articles on the spectrum of health care informatics in research, teaching, and application. In the most recent ISI rankings, JAMIA has the highest impact factor among all journals in health informatics.  AMIA members receive JAMIA as part of their membership benefits.
