AMIA 2012 Annual Symposium – Submission Deadline March 15
The AMIA 2012 Annual Symposium takes place this year in Chicago, Il, USA on 03-07 November – full details are at http://www.amia.org/amia2012
The submission deadline for all forms of proposal is March 15, 2012 – for full details on types of proposal (including new and revived formats) see http://www.amia.org/meetings-events/amia-2012-annual-symposium/proposals
The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) Chair for AMIA 2012 is Bill Hersh, and he describes some of the changes for this year in his ‘Informatics Professor’ blog. Among the changes are:
- a new category of presentation called State of the Practice; aiming to provide sessions led by experts and leaders from operational settings who will describe key problems and challenges whose solutions have answers in the scientific research of the field;
- a submission category for podium presentations of abstracts;
- the return of the tutorial program to presenter-initiated submissions (instead of commission by an AMIA committee); and
- a new pre-symposium program for AMIA Working Groups.
